Jemala is a Jakarta, Indonesia based music project initiated by Anak Utara (Riady’s music moniker) and Theo Cahya. Started from a normal music nerd conversation that took place inside the same office space. These two geeks found their exchange of musical references, dreams and visions aligned. Jemala means head in Indonesian language. The idea behind the name stems from a simple wish. A wish to document and translate all of the musical ideas constructed inside their heads into something that hopefully be able to please other people’s head too.
